Harry Weber passed peacefully into eternal life on March 27, 2022 with his family by his side. Harry was born in the Bronx to Harry and Margaret Weber on September 13, 1935.

After graduating high school, Harry joined the U.S. Army, served time overseas in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in December of 1956.
Back in civilian life, Harry married the love of his life, Josephine (nèe McCabe) and settled into what would become their life-long home in Piermont, NY where they created a warm and loving environment for their children and grandchildren.

Harry started his career as an equipment operator in the Operating Engineers Local 15. In 1965, Harry joined the New York City Fire Department, serving in fire houses throughout Manhattan and the Bronx until his retirement as an FDNY Lieutenant in 1995.

Harry was an active member of many church and social organizations. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, volunteering wherever needed. He was a Third Degree Bother in the Knights of Columbus.

Harry was a proud member of the American Legion Perry Post 1044 for over forty years, serving in various leadership roles.

Harry enjoyed all aspects of being a part of the Piermont Seniors, where he made many lifelong friends.

Harry is survived by his wife Josephine; son Harry and Donna and their children Harry and Angela; daughter Denise and her children Alexa, William, and Matthew Mishkel; daughter Noreen and E.J. Krall and their children Amanda, Julie, and Elizabeth; son Michael and Megan and their children Elizabeth, Samantha, Michael, and Ryan; and daughter Brigid and Tom McKenna and their children Brigid, Laura, and Thomas.
Harry is also survived by his sister Patricia Gatens, sister-in-law Carol McCabe and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Harry was pre-deceased by his sister, Ethel Hargon.

Harry’s life was dedicated to his family and their happiness and well-being, and the enjoyment of the company of his many friends over the years. His wife and children will sadly miss his presence as will his grandchildren miss their “Poppy” at the family gatherings and travel adventures.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 1st, 11am at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan with burial to follow at Tappan, Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 31st, 3-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church (120 Kings Highway, Tappan, NY 10983) would be greatly appreciated.
