Nellie Garcia was born in Jaguey Grande, Cuba in 1929. She married Arturo Garcia in 1949. Together they immigrated to the US in the late fifties, became citizens, and lived the American Dream. They were married for 70 Years until her husband passed away in 2019. Nellie worked in the Hotel industry (Hilton). They later went on to own and manage retail stores, and a maintenance corporation, where Nellie was president, and which later became American Maintenance. While doing all this she found time to bring up two kids, and put them through college. Nellie is survived by a very loving family that is extremely proud, and thankful for all she did for her family. She is survived by her sister: Enita, and brother: Israel. She is also survived by her son: Artie II, daughter: Barbara, daughter-in-law: Darlene, son-in-law: Andy, niece: Tammy, 3 nephews: (Jorge, Georgie, Bobby), 4 grandchildren (Artie III, Deanna, Andrew, Stephen), Grand-daughter-in-law: Lauren, 3 great grandchildren (Artie IV, Brayden, Liliana), and Rex IV. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9th, 1-3pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
