Robert T. Burns, 87, of Alpine, formerly of Cliffside Park, NJ. Beloved husband of the late Anna T. (2003), loving father of Robert W. and proud grandfather of Delphine S. Burns of San Francisco, CA. Brother of Peter J. Burns, Anne Rogers, Mickey Damurjian. Korean War veteran that worked in elevator construction for Peele Construction, Westinghouse and Schindler Elevator until his retirement. He was an active fire fighter in the Alpine Reliance Fire Co. and was chief from 1969-1971. He served on the Alpine Mayor and Council as well as the Planning Commission. Commodore of the Beach Haven Park Yacht Club who spent over 30 summers on Long Beach Island. Funeral service Friday, 10am at Moritz Funeral Home in Closter with burial at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee. Visiting hours Thursday, 4-8pm.
